50 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

Western Wood Preservers Ltd. extends this warranty for fifty years, after the warranted wood is installed. This warranty is not transferable to subsequent owners.

Western Wood Preservers Ltd. shakes and shingles, as defined under this warranty, refer only to those meeting #1 grade.

THIS WARRANTY COVERS:

FIFTY YEAR COVERAGE: WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES AND SHINGLES, are warranted for fifty years from date of purchase against damage by termites or fungal decay that would make the material structurally unfit for the application or purpose for which it is used. Each piece of wood covered by this warranty must have been treated to a 0.40 pcf retention of CCA preservative, and is used only as a roof or wall covering material.

WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS LTD., within 60 days of notice of claim under this warranty, will arrange to exchange the damaged material for new 0.40 pcf WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES AND SHINGLES. The home owner must present to WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS LTD. the original invoice showing date and specified amount of WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES AND SHINGLES purchased. Sufficient amount of SHAKES AND SHINGLES must have been purchased to cover pieces claimed to be damaged. WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS LTD. reserves the right to have a representative inspect all material which is claimed to be damaged.

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER AND WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS LTD. SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

1) WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES AND SHINGLES used in soil contact, used in total water immersion application, or damage resulting from any cause other than fungal decay or termites.

2) Damage to WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES AND SHINGLES caused by warp, twist, splitting, shrinkage, swelling or other physical properties of wood.

3) Costs associated with the delivery, installation, or removal of WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES AND SHINGLES.

4) Any incidental or consequential damages claimed to be a result of WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES OR SHINGLES other than WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS, OR WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES OR SHINGLES that have been cut or split during application, unless such exposed wood has been treated with a liberal brush application of a proprietary Copper Naphthenate wood preservative containing no less than 2% by weight of copper.

5) Damage caused by the general lack of adequate roof maintenance (i.e. roof must be kept free of leaves, needles, branches and other debris).

6) Any WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS LTD. treated product which is cut or worked in any way to expose untreated wood except where freshly exposed wood is coated with a field cut proprietary preservative containing no less than 2% copper in Copper Naphthenate.

The obligation of WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS LTD. under this warranty is limited to replacement of shakes and shingles in accordance with the terms of this warranty. There are no warranties offered by WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS LTD. other than those described herein. Nothing in this warranty shall affect duration of any implied warranties, extend duration of implied warranties beyond their customary duration, or create additional implied warranties.

The laws of Canada or United States, may vary in regard to duration of implied warranties, and limitations of incidental or consequential damaged contained in such implied warranties. In any event, WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS LTD. will comply with the laws of the province or state in which a limited warranty is validated.

HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM:

To make a claim under this warranty, send your claim along with the original invoice showing date and list of WESTERN WOOD PRESERVERS SHAKES AND SHINGLES purchased, along with warranty to the address below.
